[Sarasota] On
Sunday, January 27, 2002, Florida fellow practitioners held a public
video seminar to introduce Supreme Master Ching Hai and the Quan Yin
and Convenient Methods to sincere spiritual aspirants. This was the
first time we held such a event in the area.
The seminar was conducted at an elegant fine arts
auditorium on the New College of Florida campus, and attracted spiritual
seekers of many ages, ranging from young college students to senior
citizens. Those who attended commented that they were very impressed
with our organization and program, and many wanted to know more about
vegetarian foods. After a free vegetarian buffet, approximately two-thirds
of the attendees stayed to learn the Convenient Method.
Following the seminar, we found a location for the
Convenient Method practitioners to hold their weekly group meditation
sessions. One woman who had missed the event was able to come to a
group meditation session to learn the Convenient Method. When she
discovered that practicing the Convenient Method would give her liberation
in this lifetime, she said that throughout her life, she had always
felt she had been tricked into coming back here this time, and swore
that it would be her last lifetime. Excitedly, she stated that now
she knew for certain this was her last time to reincarnate!
The weekly group meditations give the new practitioners
support, allowing them to ask questions, watch Master's videos, borrow
tapes and books, learn more about vegetarian foods, and of course,
meditate together. At least one Convenient Method practitioner is
awaiting initiation into the Quan Yin Method. Florida disciples feel
blessed to have played a part in God's work of sowing the seeds of
            Truth in the Sarasota community.
