[Taipei] In
appreciation of the earnest public service work done by Mr. Gu Min,
Director of Formosa's Legislative Yuan Library, the Taipei Center of
the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association presented nine
prints of Supreme Master Ching Hai's paintings to the Library on the
morning of April 23, 2003. Director Gu personally received the prints
at the Library.
Some
of the prints were hung in the Library, brightening the venue and quickly
becoming the focus of staff members' attention. The other prints were
placed in the Legislative Yuan's Information Office, where passersby
can get a good view of the pieces through large plate glass windows.
Director Gu was especially interested in the painting "Harmony,"
observing that the contrasts between strong and weak and tough and gentle
represented in the piece might be external themes, but they also reflect
inner contrasts in the human spirit and mind. Mr.Gu added that the work
inspires him in finding ways to arrange worldly matters, both strong
and tough, weak and gentle, in realistic surroundings so as to allow
them to exist in harmony.
From
1992 to 1998, Director Gu, a world-renowned scholar with a global vision
and concern for humanity, served as President of the Asia Pacific Parliamentary
Library Association, and is currently a standing member of the International
Federation of Library Associations and Institutions, a group affiliated
with UNESCO. During an interview with initiates, Mr. Gu expressed his
eagerness to participate in activities conducted by the Supreme Master
Ching Hai International Association because as he said, "It gives
me extraordinary bliss and spiritual elevation! Each time I come in
contact with friends from the Supreme Master Ching Hai International
Association, they impress me with their sincerity and spirit of contributing
unconditionally to others' welfare. I respect them as truly courageous
people and heroes of society. We really need such individuals with the
spirit of service to society." Director Gu perceives Master as
a Messenger Who has come to spread God's message and bring new hope
to the world in the Golden Age.
In
addition, Director Gu was certain that Master's paintings would bring
positive energy to the Legislative Yuan: "The Legislative Yuan
is a place for discussing major national issues and important projects
affecting the people's lives, and its library is truly an open corner
in the institution. The combination of spirituality and art found in
Master's work will definitely make the place more perfect. In the midst
of the bustling legislature, if people passing by can just look at these
paintings for a few seconds, they will experience a brief moment of
tranquility in their hearts. I believe that they will also feel a wonderful
sense of inspiration and elevation, which will nurture their wisdom
and help them handle worldly matters perfectly. Supreme Master Ching
Hai's paintings are ideal for serving this function."
