There was a man who repaired typewriters, and one
day he was called into a building to do a repair. So he went there,
but when he looked for a parking space, he couldn’t find one.
In the big city sometimes it’s difficult to find a parking space.
So he parked in a no parking zone and put a note on the windshield
of his car that said, “I’m Joseph Goldsmith, working inside
the building” to let the police know that he had to do some
work. So when he finished repairing the typewriter, he came out and
saw another note next to his note that said, “I’m Jeremy
Flagler, police officer, working outside the building.” With
the note was a ticket.

There was a shop that sold chickens and a woman
came in and wanted to buy a chicken. So the shopkeeper brought out
a chicken and gave it to her, saying, “This one’s twenty
dollars.” And the woman said, “Oh, that’s too small.
Don’t you have something bigger?” But the man didn’t
so he took that chicken and weighed it again somewhere and then said,
“Here’s a bigger one. This one’s thirty dollars.”
So the woman said, “OK, I’ll take them both.”

A man kept praying to God to win the lotto. Every
week he prayed to win the lotto, but many years passed and he never
won the lotto. So then one day he began crying to God, saying, “I’ve
been praying to You for years just to win the lotto so that I could
build my house. How come You’ve never answered my prayers?”
So God asked him, “Did you ever buy a lotto ticket?” And
the man said, “No.”
