Promoting Love and Alternative Living
on the Lunar New Year

[Houston, Texas] Houston, Texas is well known for its cultural diversity and love of international holidays. For example, the city hosts an annual Chinese New Year’s Festival that includes Asian dancing, performances by well-known Aulacese musicians and other cultural activities. Each year, attendance at the event increases so in 2006 its sponsors decided to host the Festival in the Reliant Arena, a large sports venue that is home to the Houston Texans professional football team.

This year local initiates participated in the activity by conducting a booth featuring a projector and large screen on which they showed DVDs of Master’s video lectures, concerts, charitable work and disaster relief activities. The booth was auspiciously located near some of the Festival’s main attractions and at an intersection of aisles that led to all areas of the Arena. Also, the hosts were very gracious in providing a free promotional printing of 3,000 flyers containing information about Master and the Quan Yin Method, which they had not done in previous years.

On Festival day, January 29, 2006, after an early morning meditation session, a group of brothers and sisters from Houston and Austin traveled to the venue, made final preparations and then welcomed the large crowds streaming into the Arena. The sunny weather that day provided a perfect setting for the event as the initiates worked diligently to create a warm, loving atmosphere. And when the attendees saw the beautiful picture of Master, many stopped and asked questions. All the initiates were helpful in accommodating the guests’ needs and gave them gifts such as the DVDs Why is it Good to be Vegetarian? and The Real Heroes, along with Master’s pamphlets and the featured "Alternative Living" flyer. Upon receiving the items the visitors were very thankful and some offered to pay but the initiates declined, respectfully explaining, "It's a gift from God!" Also, some guests were already aware of Master and Her teachings and engaged in lively conversations with the work team. Then these successful encounters with the public continued for the rest of the day as everyone was filled with a sense of Heavenly joy and tranquility.

In conclusion, the Houston and Austin initiates who participated in the 2006 Chinese New Year Festival activity are sincerely thankful for having had the chance to spread Master’s teachings so that Her love could touch many lives in their area, and they vow to continue spreading Her divine message to the world.
