Ecuador
Sharing More Blessings
in South
America
By
brother-initiate Edgar Nadal Pareja, Lima, Peru (Originally in Spanish)
After fulfilling a beautiful task in
the countries of Colombia and Venezuela, we returned to Peru to continue
with the distribution of Alternative Living flyers in our own country
as well as in another neighboring country - Ecuador. On June 7, Golden
Year 3 (2006), we headed north for Guayaquil City, the biggest city
and the economic center of Ecuador. After traveling more than 34 hours
by bus, our team of initiates started work very early, and during that
day we handed out thousands of flyers.
Some people asked us how and with which
products they could replace meat, and which ingredients to have on hand
for this Alternative Living message we had suggested. After a brief
explanation, they understood its importance and the health benefits
of the vegetarian diet. We also showed them the Web sites where they
could find additional information.
In many vegetarian restaurants we visited,
we shared the flyers with the diners and also gave them to the restaurant
owners so that they could make them available to more customers. We
were filled with gratitude to encounter such total acceptance. In one
restaurant we met a man who had been vegetarian for ten years already.
He was very interested to learn about the Quan Yin Method. He asked
us to contact him for any future video seminars, and to let him know
when a Center opened in Ecuador.
The following day, we had a visit from
an Ecuadorian in the hotel where we were staying. After he read the
sample booklet, he returned the next day to learn the Convenient Method.
He told us that reading the sample booklet had opened an important option
to him for a better life.
Once
we had concluded our work in Guayaquil, initiates headed to Quito, the
capital of Ecuador, to continue distributing flyers among main avenues,
historical centers, universities and many other areas. In all these
places people were very receptive and appreciative. A middle-aged gentleman,
upon reading the flyer, remarked that he had been vegetarian for many
years, and that he knew of Supreme Master Ching Hai via the Internet
as well as through reading some of Her books. He asked us for additional
flyers to give to his friends.
Another young lady read the flyer.
As she was convinced of the nutritional value of each food listed in
the flyer, she asked for more copies to take to the nuns’ institution
she attended. Many local people in Quito showed great interest in the
Alternative Living message and were eager to learn more about the vegetarian
food and the meat substitutes.
On June 17, we concluded the work in
Ecuador. All of us felt honored to share the immense love and incomparable
humanitarianism of our beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai.
