Vegetarian Cooking Comes to UK School

[Surrey] Our Association members were very delighted to be invited to take part in a Vegetarian Chinese cooking demonstration as part of the School International Week of the children’s education curriculum at St. John the Baptist secondary school, Working, UK. A group of 18 students, aged 13 and 14 took part in the cookery program, making vegetarian spring rolls. The students were given a detailed step- by- step demonstration and were guided in their cooking. They took great interest in learning each stage of preparation, showing much enthusiasm and excitement throughout the session. At the end, they could not wait to taste their own cooking. They declared how delicious the vegetarian spring rolls tasted. One of the boys exclaimed, “I don’t eat vegetables but I like eating this vegetarian spring roll!” The Head of Food Technology commented that the session was wonderful. The positive responses are encouraging.
