[Arequipa] For a city beset by social unrest, a video-lecture aimed at sharing Master’s teachings of compassion and enlightenment came at just the right time for the entire city.

Quan Yin brothers and sisters in Arequipa, Peru’s second largest city, had decided to hold the event on July 19, Golden Year 4 (2007), after prolonged planning, only to find our arrangements jeopardized by a drawn-out strike. Having distributed flyers and advertised the lecture twice over the radio, we were aware that it would be difficult to repeat the process so smoothly. We placed everything in God’s hands. Consequently, the strike was called off and the city returned to normal, giving us two days to finalize the details and hold the event as scheduled.

Attendants at the lecture received the sample booklet “The Key of Immediate Enlightenment” as well as pocket calendars and pens displaying information on Supreme Master Television and its online channel. The event attracted a respectable attendance and, thanks to God’s uplifting influence on our planet, most participants had good inner vision when learning the Convenient Method of meditation.

The lecture enlightened guests on their inner power to bring about change in a peaceful and lasting way. We realized, against the backdrop of social disruption, that if we want society and the world to change, we have to start with ourselves by developing our inner qualities to overcome the many problems that arise.
