Dear Supreme Master Ching Hai:

I am deeply moved and honored to receive the “Shining World Leadership Award” from an admirable world figure such as You. Your life and accomplishments have inspired millions of people in Puerto Rico and throughout the international community. Your relentless dedication to improving the lives of others is truly inspiring and has had a profound impact on the way people perceive their relationship with God and the universe. Moreover, we are constantly reminded by Your example, that life must combine a constant inner search for Truth and an unyielding commitment to help others.

Since the beginning of my administration, my team and I have made our program “Puerto Rico in Shape” a top priority. We are mobilizing every available resource within our means to ensure that our children will improve their dietary and exercise regimes to lead healthy lives. I genuinely appreciate Your recognition of this ongoing effort.

My wife Luisa and I are looking forward to meeting You someday and wish You all the best in Your remarkable endeavors.
