I am one of my mother’s 13 and one of my father’s 25 children. He was the chief of all the traditional healers, the chief of the family and also the first knight of one of the Abomey’s in the Kingdom of Benin. Of my mother’s 12 surviving children, all except me have been initiated into the Quan Yin Method. I used to sell non-vegetarian food near a restaurant in our village. One day while I was selling food, a fair-skinned lady in magnificent attire came to buy some food from me. She opened my pots and saw eggs, meat and fish, with rice, beans and pasta. She gestured to me that she wanted some of the beans. She refused to take any of soup and ate only the very dry cooked beans, even without salt. (The beans were usually served with the rice and non-vegetarian soup.) After eating the beans, the lady walked away and disappeared in a distance. Some time after that incident, I recognized
this same lady on the photo of my sister’s pendant. I then explained
to her what had happened. She told me that it was Supreme Master Ching
Hai who had appeared to me, maybe to warn me or to lessen my future karma.
Shortly afterwards, I became ill and was advised not to cook as I was
told that the heat had a negative effect on my body. Since then, I have
noticed a change in me. I did not want to eat meat anymore. Like my brothers
and sisters, I have also become vegetarian now and am eagerly awaiting
initiation. I am sharing my story with my brother abroad as I want him
to know that I am not just his big sister anymore, but also “one
of them” in the veggie club!
