Vegetarian Diet Uses Less Land

After a recent study to examine the land
requirements of vegetarian and meat diets, Cornell University research
revealed that a vegetarian diet uses less than one quarter the land required
by a meat-based diet. The study concluded that if everyone in the state
of New York followed a low-fat vegetarian diet, the state would be able
to agriculturally support almost 50 percent more people. Source:
