The Manifestation of God’s Love in Tabasco By Mexico News Group (Originally in Spanish)
Learning about the devastated aftermath of Hurricane Noel in early November, Master instructed fellow initiates to carry out emergency relief work in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Cuba and Mexico, and contributed a total of US$60,000 to aid these countries. (Please refer to News magazine No. 193 for more information.) In the Mexican state of Tabasco, water levels reached over two meters high and forced hundreds of families to leave their homes for shelters. A relief team of 21 fellow practitioners was able to reach some unattended communities in the beginning of November even before the Mexican army. The director of the Department of Agriculture (SAGARPA) in Cardenas City, Tabasco, gave the team the necessary means and support. Organizing themselves into five working groups, the fellow initiates, traveling in vans, looked for flood victims and distributed a total of 3,500 packages containing food supplies and News magazines in different communities. The families that received the relief items exclaimed with joy, “These are good!” On their trip to the last small community, there were just over a hundred packages left. They had to inform the local people that only those in desperate need could receive relief items. It was touching to see that some people stepped out of the waiting line. Miraculously, the fellow initiates were able to provide everyone with a package and some even two, and to their amazement ended up distributing more packages than they had even loaded into the van. Later they discovered that the same miracle happened to other members of the relief team who had been working in different affected areas. The fellow initiates realized that they had just witnessed how God provided for the needy in the same way that Jesus Christ multiplied bread to feed the multitudes in the ancient times. Apart from helping Tabasco flood victims physically, fellow practitioners also tried to sow some spiritual seeds by organizing a vegetarian cuisine workshop and video seminar for the representatives from different communities. Many people from SAGARPA were interested in knowing more about Master. The relief team hopes that the spiritual seeds will soon flourish in the hearts of those who were in contact with the Ocean of Love through this relief work.
