Ms. Hazra Banu and her sister Rabia

On December 28, Golden Year 4 (2007), fellow initiates from Formosa arrived in the small village of Peshragha in northeast India, bringing Supreme Master Ching Hai’s love to two remarkable ladies: Ms. Hazra Banu and Rabia.

Having no electricity and scarce water, the villagers often had to drink polluted water from the nearby ponds. The two sisters decided to take matters into their own hands and to dig a well to provide water for the villagers, without any support whatsoever. For the whole month of November, they used their bare hands and dug a well 25-30 feet deep and were so happy at achieving their goal. The new well now provides water to 30 villagers and their vegetable gardens. This has brought much joy to the villagers.

Smiles appeared on the faces of the two sisters when fellow initiates shared with them some loving gifts of Master’s publications and sweets. They were overwhelmed with delight when presented with US$1,500 cash (Indian Rupees 60,000) from Master for equipment to further their work for the village. They could not contain their tears of happiness and repeatedly thanked Master for Her encouragement and practical help and said they will put the money into good use.

The two sisters’ courage and determination to bring joy to their surroundings is an example to the villagers and the world. This was an amazing and delightful encounter for the fellow initiates. They are grateful for the opportunity to share God’s love with needy people and bring Heaven to a corner of the world.
