Master’s Loving Contribution
to
Animal Protection Group By Taipei News Group (Originally in Chinese)
The release of Master’s new book - The Dogs in My Life – on October 25, Golden Year 4 (2007), presented a perfect opportunity for Ms. Wang Li-ling, President of the Help-Save-A-Pet Fund, and Mr. Sean McCormack, founder of Animals Taiwan, to talk to Master for the first time through videoconference. Master commended their compassionate efforts in loving and caring for animals, and contributed US$10,000 to each of the two groups, encouraging them to carry on their noble task. (For details, please refer to reports in News magazine # 192.) The official contribution was held at the Love Ocean Arts Center on November 16 and December 26, respectively. Ms. Wang Li-ling pledged to dedicate Master’s contribution to building a house for old dogs, to enjoy their remaining years. The house would have padded walls and floor to ensure comfort and prevent aging dogs from sustaining injuries from bumping into a wall due to poor vision or physical weakness. Such separate housing would keep them from getting hurt from the more lively and robust dogs. Ms. Wang thought that this would be the best way to spend Master’s compassionate contribution. At the second contribution event, the US$10,000 fund was received by Miss Chen Shu-chuan and Mr. Ryan Bell on behalf of Animals Taiwan. The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association also gave them Master’s publications. The two representatives from Animals Taiwan repeatedly thanked Master for Her loving support and were very interested in knowing more about Her teachings. They were also keen to feed their dogs with healthier vegetarian food. Therefore, our Association gave five large bags of "Loving Food for the Lively Doggie" to Animals Taiwan, to encourage them to feed the animal friends with vegetarian food, thus showing respect and ensuring compassionate care for all animals.
