Timely Aid to Abobo Village |
By Kenya News Group (Originally in English) |
In
September 2008, Ethiopia suffered a serious flood that affected the
lives of over 750 families and 2,800 people in the village of Abobo.
Soon after the flooding, our Association members from Kenya traveled
for 2 days to provide aid. When the team arrived in Abobo on September
14, seven to eight hundred villagers were already desperately waiting
for aid. With Master’s contribution of US$15,000, they distributed
needed mats, corn, and soap to the people and offered US$5,000 to
the local Red Cross for assisting in farther rural areas. On the same
day, the local government officials presented a letter of appreciation
to our Association members on behalf of all the flood victims.
