Due to global warming and human over-usage, Lake Chad, one of the world’s largest lakes in north central Africa, has receded by 95 percent since the early 1960s.Realizing the urgency of encouraging people to counter climate change with a plant-based diet, our Association members are doing their best to deliver the “Be Veg to Save the Planet” message in all areas of society, including the media.

Cameroon

From Douala, the country’s largest city and commercial center, Association members spanned out in all directions, distributing over 350,000 flyers in major cities around the country, including Yaounde, Douala, Buea, Bamenda, Ebolowa, Ngaoundere, Garoua and Bafousam. Printed and audiovisual materials on Alternative Living and global warming were presented to several news outlets, including Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), CRTV Adamaoua, CRTV Garoua, CRTV Maroua, Sawtu Linjiila, FM Benoue 88.1 and Radio Salaaman.

The manager and the staff of the radio station Dynamic FM demonstrated enthusiastic support, offering the initiates the opportunity to discuss vegetarianism and global warming about twice a week at their radio station. The program alternates between English and French but sometimes a joint-English and French session is held, hence fulfilling the bilingual character of Cameroon.

Chad

The Cameroon initiates also traveled northeast to neighboring Chad. Students of the University of N'jamena studied the materials and concluded that a plant-based diet is crucial to personal welfare and environmental sustainability. The media contacted included the newspaper Le Progrès Quotidien and two radio stations—Radio FM Liberté and Dja FM 96.9.

Central African Republic

In this country to the east of Cameroon, Association members distributed 8,000 flyers and visited two radio and two television stations. Le Confident and Le Citoyen­ were more than happy to help distribute the flyers as newspaper inserts at a token charge. Students at Bangui University showed great interest in Master’s sample booklets and The Key of Immediate Enlightenment is now available in their library collection.

Equatorial Guinea and Gabon

People in these two countries to the south of Cameroon were grateful for the important message. Many accepted the warning with an acute understanding that human action is essential to containing the environmental damage.

Thanks to Master's boundless love, the African people are coming to realize that healthy living on a vegetarian diet will stop 80% of global warming. Initiates will continue to spread the SOS message to inform people of the solutions to stop the human-induced changes in the world’s climate.
