On December 22, Golden Year 5 (2008), the initiates visited the Presidential Advisor on Global Warming, former Philippine Senator Heherson Alvarez and offered him Master’s gift. He immediately felt inspired to read Master’s poetry to all his guests at the Christmas party and shared this holiday greeting: “I wish that all of us, whether Philippine or non-Philippine, I wish there would be a coordination, cooperation, love in times of need. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year! ” Upon request, he also delivered Master’s gifts to Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who said she appreciated them very much.
At the home of Manuel Morato, President of the Gusi Peace Prize Foundation, the visiting initiates conveyed Master’s love and concern to him. He was very touched and happy to receive Master’s gift. To Mr. Joe Lad Santos, publisher and Head of the Commission of the Filipino Language, Master sent Her best wishes and gave US$10,000 for his noble humanitarian services. Mr. Santos told our representatives that he had been complete vegetarian for half a year and would like to receive initiation. He said, “Being vegetarian gives me a healthier body and mind and make me super capable in performing my tasks.”
Next, the initiates met with former First Lady Imelda Marcos who had specially left the hospital where she was resting to meet them. She lovingly embraced each brother and sister and treated them so kindly as if they were her own family members. Happily receiving Master’s gift, Mrs. Marcos said, “I wish and pray for the Grand Master to have long life and good health so that humanity can live in peace and be one in unity, so we can move forward in a world more of prosperity and of quality of life and of peace.”
On December 24, Archbishop Talamayan received our Association members for a visit while recuperating in hospital and gladly accepted Master’s gifts. He asked Father Agatep to accompany them to visit the recently completed Honorable Retired Bishops and Priests Home, constructed with Master’s financial contributions. (Please see News No. 192 for more information) Father Agatep invited the initiates for a vegetarian Christmas Eve dinner at the church and proudly announced that the Archbishop and himself are almost vegetarian.
During this time, initiates also had the honor of setting up a satellite system for all five of the distinguished VIPs so they could watch and enjoy Supreme Master Television. May Heaven abundantly bless these loving friends and all the kind people of the Philippines, with the goodwill from such heartfelt exchanges fostering greater love and kindness in all corners of the world.
