Supreme Master Ching Hai was recently honored by the US Federal Government and the Los Angeles County Government. The 43rd US President George W. Bush awarded Supreme Master Ching Hai with the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award, which encourages healthier lifestyles, greater determination and more self-confidence in individuals and communities. Touched by President Bush’s recognition, Master wrote a letter to convey Her appreciation for the honor of the award as well as the privilege of being welcome in his country. On March 20, Golden Year 6 (2009), Los Angeles County, California, recognized Master with a Certificate of Commendation for Her dedicated service to the affairs of the community and for the civic pride demonstrated by numerous contributions for the benefit of all the citizens of the county. This award was signed by the Supervisor of the Fifth District, Mr. Michael D. Antonovich. The county had become aware of Master’s noble work through Ms. Margie Evans, internationally renowned singer and Executive Director of the outreach charity, Los Angeles Music Week. ![]() As a humanitarian who has dedicated Her life to contributing
to the world, Master has helped accomplish transformations in many
parts of the globe. Her work has received worldwide acclaim along
with prestigious awards, including the Gusi Peace Prize (2006), First-place
Silver for the 27th Annual Telly Awards (2006), World Spiritual Leadership
Award (1994), World Citizen Humanitarian Award (1994), while February
22 and October 25 have been proclaimed The Supreme Master Ching Hai
Day by US government officials.
