People gather to receive free medical service and relief materials.

 

On February 28, Golden Year 6 (2009), the Gusi Peace Prize Foundation conducted a series of charitable activities in the Philippines, providing free medical service and distributing food and other materials to needy residents in Bucay City, Abra Province. Many organizations, including The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association, earnestly sponsored this compassionate event that benefited many people. With the US$30,000 fund contributed by Supreme Master Ching Hai, our Association members purchased medical supplies and rice at respective costs of 700,000 pesos and 730,000 pesos. They also provided free medical service in cooperation with the Gusi Peace Prize Foundation.

On that day, a large number of people arrived as early as 5 a.m. Many local and international celebrities graced the event, including the honorable Mr. Barry Gusi, Chairman of the Gusi Peace Prize Foundation, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Evelyn Tantamco Gusi; Mr. Rudolf A. Bernandez IV, Mayor of Bucay City; and Mr. Manuel L. Morato, President of the Gusi Peace Prize Foundation. To share Master’s blessing and love with the people, our Association members also distributed SOS flyers and information about Master along with the relief supplies. Mr. Morato wrote a heartfelt letter expressing his deep gratitude to Master for Her love and contribution, which helped about 70,000 people in the Philippines.
