In September 2009, Mauritania experienced heavy rains that caused devastating floods, particularly in the town of Rosso, where thousands of families were left homeless. Supreme Master Ching Hai was deeply touched upon hearing news of the disaster. She provided US$7,500 in relief funds to help those in need and asked our Association members to bring comfort to the affected.
Upon arriving in Rosso on November 9, a representative of the Mayor graciously assisted the relief team in distributing rice, vegetables and sugar to the needy families. On behalf of the people, the representative and the Mayor, Mr. Fassa Yerima, both expressed deep gratitude to Master for Her heartfelt generosity. The Mayor also sent a formal thank you letter to Supreme Master Ching Hai.
We pray that the Mauritanian people may soon return to the comfort of their homes and adopt the vegan diet, bringing more peace and harmony among all of Earth’s inhabitants.
