Relief
for the Gujarat, India Earthquake Victims
[New
Jersey] on Jan 26, 2001, a severe earthquake registering
7.9 on the Richter scale hit Gujarat, India, causing approximately 20,000
deaths and leaving tens of thousands of people homeless. Upon hearing
news of the disaster, the New Jersey Center immediately asked local
fellow practitioners in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and
Pennsylvania to contribute money for disaster relief. We subsequently
received a total of US$24,408 and sent it to the India Development &
Relief Fund (IDRF). Dr. Vinod Prakash, President of the IDRF, sent us
a letter to express his group's appreciation for the love shown by Supreme
Master Ching Hai.
