Positive Responses from MP/MEPs
By Surrey News Group (Originally in English)
[Surrey] Since September, Golden Year 5 (2008), sisters and brothers of Surrey Center have been emailing the UK MPs/MEPs (Members of Parliament & Member of European Parliament) about the SOS Climate Change Crisis, the very damaging effects of livestock agriculture, and urged them to take action quickly. Activities that are harmful to our animal friends like the so-called sport of “Game bird shooting” were also brought to their attention. Since then, the initiates have received many good responses
from these influential politicians. For example, Linda McAvan MEP, enthusiastically
provided in her reply letter, updates on MEP’s recent actions and
developments in tackling these problems. Danny Langley informed the initiates
that Chris Davies MEP has campaigned to raise awareness regarding the
impacts large-scale livestock farming have on the environment, especially
in relation to methane production. Vegetarian MP Laura Moffatt said, “I
am so pleased you are concerned about our planet and it is always a pleasure
to receive such mail from my constituents.” John Purvis MEP agreed
that combating climate change must remain a long-term priority in Europe
by writing, “Our ability to come together to stop or limit damage
to the world's environment will be the greatest test of how far we can
act as a world community. We are all aware of the immense challenge. And
we all have our part to play if we are to succeed - and succeed we must
for the sake of this and future generations.” We wish that all parliamentary
members around the world will immediately take up these critical issues.

[London] On November 2, Golden Year 5 (2008), the last day of the Fifth London Yoga Show held at the prestigious Olympia National Hall in central London, our Association members gave a public presentation entitled “SOS—Save Our Planet.” Visitors raised questions on the plant-based diet, shared their views, and wanted to find out more about how to switch to a vegan diet.
