Master Sends Love to Landslide Victims
![]() By Kuala Lumpur News Group (Originally in English)
Following downpours of rain, a massive landslide occurred in a prestigious hillside residential area in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, catching the residents unawares in the early hours of December 6, 2008. Buildings collapsed resulting in five casualties, 14 injured, damage to homes and approximately 2,000 people being evacuated for their safety.
When Master heard about this news, She immediately contributed US$10,000
for a relief effort organized by local initiates. Through the government
officials, initiates obtained a list of emergency items and arranged
for clothing, toiletries, diapers, biscuits, beverages and instant
noodles to be airlifted to the community. The next morning, with Master’s
grace, they were able to join a food convoy and reach the affected
area by vehicle. Upon the victims’ request, they purchased more
urgent supplies including food for children and medicine at a nearby
pharmacy. The stranded people were happy to learn of Master’s
love and concern for them. Initiates distributed SOS flyers and DVDs
to the landslide-affected persons as well as to the welfare workers
at the relief center, hoping more people will be awakened to minimizing
future disasters through a compassionate lifestyle.
