Master
is very concerned about the disasters that have occurred recently in
various parts of the world, such as the drought in the West and the
floods in the East. Recently in America, hundreds have died during a
severe heat wave, and the floods in Asia have also caused many deaths,
with countless people being made homeless. The flooding in China alone
displaced five and a half million people. Energy generated deep in the
Earth's crust is also leading to earthquakes in many regions. For example,
the western and central parts of Turkey were hit recently by the most
severe earthquake in the country's history, resulting in tens of thousands
being killed or injured, and more than two hundred thousand people being
left homeless.
In
order to relieve the suffering of the Chinese flood victims, a total
of US$120,000 (see attached receipts A, B and C from banks) was sent
to the Red Cross in Switzerland. And upon learning that the Turkish
earthquake victims needed tents and blankets most urgently, Formosan,
Hong Kong and Singapore initiates immediately contributed more than
6,000 items, including tents and sleeping bags, as well as medical supplies
to Turkey.
Besides
making monetary and material contributions to help the most affected
areas, Master also immediately instructed disciples worldwide to meditate
more and pray to God, in the hope that the benevolent ambience derived
from their meditation will create more positive energy in the world
to help alleviate the suffering of humankind.
