After
everyone had eaten, Master arrived in a beautiful light blue dress,
and the performance began. The first act was an exhilarating Middle
Eastern belly dance by an initiate from California, followed by a touching
unaccompanied song by a little initiate from Mainland China entitled
"Thank You, Master-Love is Indeed a Source of Wealth." Afterwards,
two lovely guitar duets, a lively dance, a pop vocal duet, and an energetic
Aulacese martial arts demonstration by young people gave everyone pleasure.
Master took the microphone after the martial arts performance to give
a brief history of the Vovinam (literally, Aulacese Kung Fu), demonstrated
by the performers and its influence on Au Lac as a self-defense force
and source of cultural unity throughout the centuries.
Afterwards,
two professional Aulacese singers gave a moving rendition of poems from
Master's collection, "The Lost Memories," accompanied by traditional
Aulacese monochord and multi-stringed instruments and a bamboo flute.
Finally, a series of highly polished songs sung by an array of professional
Aulacese singers rounded out the evening's performance, and the celebration
drew to a close.
