[Tainan] On August 26, a public-service cable television fair was held at the Tainan Art and Cultural Center by the Government Information Office, the Tainan City government, and two local cable TV systems. The fair attracted a warm response and widespread participation by the public and various public-service groups.

Exquisite dances performance by fellow initiates

An exhibition focusing on public-service activities, over the years, by the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association.	Visitors enjoy lovingly prepared delicacies served by initiates while watching one of Master's videotapes.

The fair opened in the morning with brilliant ethnic dances performed by fellow practitioners. Among the dozens of stalls at the fair, the two set up by fellow practitioners stood out distinctly. They displayed a wide assortment of publications and artistic creations by Master, and offered a detailed introduction of recent charity work by the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association. A satellite TV program of Master was screened simultaneously. Initiates invited people to sample the colorful, aromatic, and delicious vegetarian food they had prepared, immediately attracting the attention of visitors from all directions. Information about the vegetarian diet on either side of the stalls gave visitors an integrated view of vegetarianism as they sampled the delicious food.

A popularity election brought the fair to a climax. Visitors formed long queues, waiting to vote for their favorite public-service group. The Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association was voted the most popular group, and received a certificate of recognition and an award from Tainan's deputy mayor. In retrospect, local fellow practitioners excelled in both their stationary booth exhibit and their dynamic stage performance, deeply impressing many visitors.

[Tainan] On August 18, 2001, fellow practitioners from the Tainan Center cleaned up the beaches along the Tainan Golden Coast to express their support for environmental protection. Working in especially high spirits that day, participants deeply realized that their seemingly insignificant efforts and considerate actions were preserving for the world a stretch of clean and beautiful beach. It was indeed a delightful thing to do!
