[Changhua] The Changhua Center
celebrated New Year's Day at the home of a fellow initiate in
Dacheng Township, and local residents were invited to join in
the warm and enjoyable occasion.
The day's activities began with an environmental program, in
which Mr. Lai Mu-sheng, a Ph.D. in environmental protection, discussed
how to properly dispose of kitchen waste, as environmentally friendly
bags and eating utensils were distributed free of charge. Then
after enjoying a vegetarian feast at noon, fellow practitioners
toured the countryside of Dacheng Township, observing the beautiful
seascape in Fangyuan, harvesting sweet corn in the fields, visiting
an ostrich park, and picking oranges at an orchard in Ershui Township.
Finally, at four in the afternoon, the participants returned to
the initiate's home for a barbecue.
