Flood Victims Thankful for Emergency Aid By Costa Rica Relief Team (Originally in Spanish) In August 2012, Tropical Storm Isaac struck Haiti’s capital city Port-au-Prince, causing flooding that forced thousands of families from their homes. Many had already lost everything in the devastating 2010 earthquake and were living in tents. The affected people were thus in urgent need of food supplies. After receiving US$30,000 in relief funds from compassionate Supreme Master Ching Hai, Association members from Costa Rica formed a relief team and traveled to Port-au-Prince on September 5. The team first met with orphanage director Pastor Ezequiel, his wife and co-workers, who had kindly offered their assistance during previous relief efforts in Haiti. This time, they helped to locate flood victims living in camps in the area and arranged for food to be distributed in a safe, efficient manner. Through God’s blessing, the relief team was able to purchase sufficient food supplies, pack the items with the help of local volunteers and distribute the packages to over 2,150 families from 11 camps. The recipients were deeply grateful to Master for thinking of them in their dire situation and sent Her all their love and good wishes. Thank you letters from flood affected people:
