[Taichung] During
the 2004 National Book Fair held at the Taichung World Trade Center
from October 30 to November 7, local initiates endorsed the theme
“Trust and Contact God to Make Life Colorful.” This central
Formosan cultural event attracted over a hundred publishers and included
captivating activities conducted by the initiates that introduced
large numbers of book lovers to Master’s teachings.
The
Quan Yin booth was specially designed to facilitate entry on both sides,
and featured a cozy corner where Master’s publications were displayed,
as well as comfortable seats from which visitors could quietly enjoy
presentations of Master’s ethereal music. On the first and last
days of the Fair, the initiates’ Truth-sharing program featured
precisely timed shows in which models wearing gorgeous Celestial Clothes
displayed Master’s spiritual books, accompanied by concise and
pertinent introductions by an announcer. These programs were well received
by large audiences, who sought spiritual information from the initiates
even before they were completed. The public also learned about Master’s
publications through interactive methods such as a story-telling session
by an initiate dressed as “Sister Mosquito,” quizzes with
prize giveaways, a concert featuring Master’s music, a cooking
demonstration based on the Supreme Kitchen cookbook and a seminar at
which local celebrities introduced Master’s books.
Guests who added to the warm ambiance
at the Quan Yin booth included the principal, teachers and students
from the National Taichung School for the Deaf, children from the Taiwan
Fund for Children and Families and the director, teachers and students
from the local Youth High School’s advertising design department.
Mr. Hong Ming-cai, principal of the School for the Deaf, had read the
sample booklet The Key of Immediate Enlightenment more than a decade
earlier and felt great admiration and respect for Supreme Master Ching
Hai. While pledging to work more diligently in pursuing spiritual development,
Mr. Hong said the following about the benefits of meditation: “Based
on my past experience in educating our students, I have found that meditation
encourages us to reflect on our inner Self. Our school would like to
have more opportunities to promote meditation so that every student
can see his own Self more clearly.” More than ninety teachers
and students from the School participated in a November 2 quiz on Master’s
book God Takes Care of Everything, and happily went home with prizes
they had won at the contest.

During the closing hour of the 2004 National
Book Fair, as other exhibitors seized their final chance to promote
their publications, the initiates on the work team meditated to express
their sincere gratitude to Master for allowing them to learn spiritually
and serve as God’s tools through the event. While the sisters
and brothers sat in meditation, Master’s love permeated the venue
and many initiates were moved to tears by the inner bliss they experienced.
