[Kaohsiung] Fellow initiates
in the southern Formosan port city, of Kaohsiung had long desired a
group meditation venue near the downtown area. So when the lease on
their old center was about to expire, they put their faith in God and
decided to build their own center. Funds for land acquisition were quickly
raised, construction began and with Master’s blessings “The
Golden Hall,” was inaugurated on October 24, 2004, the eve of
Ching Hai Day, Golden Year One. For Kaohsiung disciples it was a dream
come true after many years of longing!
From land acquisition to site leveling
and final renovation, the new center was completed in eight months through
hard work without a moment’s respite. Costs were minimized as
fellow initiates young and old worked together to transform a piece
of wasteland into a beautiful paradise for spiritual practice. In the
process, they learned how to help each other, become unified and responsible
and embrace a spirit of self-sacrifice. Thus, the project indeed represented
a rich spiritual harvest!
Filled with gratitude for Master’s magnanimous gift, the Kaohsiung
initiates sped up the construction work and had the center ready on
the eve of Ching Hai Day. Then an inauguration ceremony for The Golden
Hall was held, along with traditional Ching Hai Day celebrations.
Brothers and sisters from all around Formosa and resident practitioners
from Hsihu came to share the local initiates’ jubilation as
spectacular performances were presented, followed by a great feast
featuring over a hundred delicacies. The irresistible cuisine had
more than two thousand fellow practitioners and guests in attendance
spread out in long queues before numerous food booths. The Kaohsiung
Center also provided spiritual nourishment through an exhibit of Master’s
art works and publications. Another piece of good news was that more
than twenty guests learned the Convenient Method that day.
After the party, the fellow initiates
meditated together for two hours, and only when they were fully charged
with God’s love and blessings did the celebration conclude. The
Kaohsiung disciples deeply appreciate and cherish all that Master has
bestowed on them. Filled with gratitude, they vow to practice with diligence
to repay Master’s grace. The Kaohsiung Center is a spiritual temple
belonging to all fellow practitioners, and local disciples wholeheartedly
welcome initiates from around the world to visit them at The Golden
Hall.
